“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28 has been a verse that gets me through a lot of days of my life (more then normal lately.)
Today was no different until I hit the road with my good bud, roommate, and brother in Christ; Justin Anderson. All laced up in our spandex, UT Cycling Team style, we took Old Weisgarber out into the not so distance back country of Knoxville. Within ten minutes we had a view of Knoxville that was literally taking my breath away (we had just climbed a hill.)
From there we shot down a tunnel of reds and yellas, which kept going and going and going. For a whole hour (which seemed like a week) we rode and soaked up the all the pavement and leaves that we could. With our final turn back onto Old Weisgarber, Justin began to sing, “Glory to God, Glory to God, GLORY TO GOD FOREVER!” and he was right! It was glorious and all to God’s name.
God gave me rest today, through a bike ride.
Glory to God forever!
